About Me
My name is Jeremy Nixon, and I'm from New Jersey.
Travel
I like to travel, and more specifically, to take long, extended road trips. My ultimate goal is to get an RV and forget about the whole idea of “going home,” but I'm not there yet. In the meantime, I travel by car as much as possible, and tend to favor the western part of the country.
Here's my latest visited-states map:

The states are color-coded: green means I've spent a good amount of time there (at least weeks at a time on multiple visits), blue means a lot but not as much as green, orange means I've at least slept there and been a few places, and red means I've passed though but only scratched the surface. So, although most of the states are filled in, the colors tell you how far I really have yet to go.
Photography
I enjoy photography, and though I'm not a real professional, in the sense that I don't make my living from it, if I knew how to do that I would. After a few years of shooting digitally, I have largely upgraded back to film, though I still use digital for things like landscapes.
I have a photo gallery you can look at. You can start with the Twelveset for a quick dozen pictures to get an idea of what I do. Or follow me on Flickr.
Please don't steal my pictures. That's wrong and illegal. Many of my pictures are available for licensing at reasonable rates, and if you want one that isn't there, let me know and I'll take care of it.
Real Life
In real life I'm a computer programer and Unix sysadmin – old-school hacker, Perl, shell, C, etc. I've also written some iPhone applications.
Feel free to , and I hope you enjoy the blog.
